Studio Policy

Welcome to SAMPA. Our goal is to provide high-quality music education in a supportive and professional environment. This policy outlines the expectations, procedures, and responsibilities of students, parents, and staff. For the comfort of ours and yours, it’s essential to follow the policy.

Enrolment & Registration

  • All students must complete a registration form before starting lessons.

  • Lesson times are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Enrolment is ongoing throughout the year.

Fees & Payments

  • Lesson fees are billed per school term (10 weeks).

  • Payments must be made by the due date stated on the invoice.

  • Payment for the next term must be made before the end of the previous term to guarantee the same lesson slot.

  • Late payments may result in losing preferred lesson day & time.

  • Fees are non-refundable except in special circumstances approved by management.

Cancellation & Make-Up Lessons

  • A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson.

  • Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged in full, unless sick. Kindly provide a Medical Certificate for absence due to sickness.

  • Make-up will be organised subject to teacher availability for class cancelled with proper notice.

  • No make-up lessons will be provided for missed lessons without notice.

Student Attendance

  • Students are expected to arrive on time, late arrival will disrupt teachers’ daily schedule.

  • Late arrival will not extend the lesson time.

  • Consistent attendance is important for progress.

Teacher Absence

  • If a teacher is unavailable, a qualified substitute may be provided.

  • If no substitute is available, a make-up lesson or credit will be offered.

Holidays & Public Holidays

  • The school follows the NSW school term calendar unless otherwise advised.

  • Lessons on public holidays may be rescheduled or credited.

Practice Expectations

  • Students are encouraged to practice regularly at home.

  • Progress depends on consistent effort and practice.

Behaviour & Conduct

  • Students must behave respectfully towards teachers and others.

  • Disruptive or inappropriate behaviour may result in termination of lessons.

Parent/Guardian Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely payment of fees.

  • Support students’ practice at home.

  • Maintain communication with admin and teachers regarding progress.

Communication

  • All communication can be conducted to Chrissia, or email sampa.burwood@gmail.com

  • Students are expected to maintain respectful conversation.

  • Important updates will be sent via email or messaging.

Termination of Lessons

  • A minimum of 4 weeks’ notice is required to discontinue lessons.

  • Outstanding fees must be paid before termination.

Media Consent

  • The school may take performance photos or videos for promotional purposes, consent will be asked beforehand. Kindly tell our friendly team if you do not wish to be part of this.

Liability

  • The school is not responsible for loss or damage of personal belongings.

  • Students participate in lessons at their own risk.

Policy Updates

  • The school reserves the right to update policies at any time.

  • Updated policies will be communicated to all students and parents.
